Why Facebook services are blocked

Published: 19.12.2024

META
Facebook (founded in 2004), now operating under the parent company Meta Platforms is one of the world's leading social networks, influencing the digital lives of billions of users.

The main platform Meta's business portfolio includes other networks such as Instagram and WhatsApp, as well as services like Messenger, Oculus (virtual reality), Facebook Marketplace (e-commerce), Facebook Pay (payment processing), Workplace (business communication) and Portal (video communication).

The company also invests in research and development in areas such as artificial intelligence, infrastructure for developers and health research pursuing projects related to health monitoring and medical data analysis.

Why is Facebook Blocked in Filter Lists?

Facebook has been involved in multiple data privacy scandals (such as the Cambridge Analytica case) where millions of user data were used for political advertising purposes without consent.

Over the years there have been repeated violations of data protection laws, user data is continually shared with third parties and transparency is not genuinely provided. In addition to these critical points, compromised accounts are regularly offered on darknet forums. As there are no real changes in this regard and as something new happens every year, Facebook services are largely blocked in favor of privacy and security in the offered lists.
